Fawlty Towers Dinner

Only 12 episodes were ever made, but Fawlty Towers remains one of the best loved comedy shows of all times. Now, you can become part of the cast of the 13th episode, and enjoy a slap-up – or should that be slap-stick – meal at the same time, at a Fawlty Towers dinner show. We at Laughlines are the original British Fawlty Towers Touring Company, and have been serving Fawlty Towers dinners since 1997. Employing some of the finest comedy actors on the circuit, we have received rave reviews across the UK and abroad, performing at numerous private, corporate and public events. We have appeared on ITV/HTV television as well as BBC and American radio, and are the only Fawlty Towers act to perform regularly at the Hotel Gleneagles in Torquay – the very hotel which inspired the series, and where John Cleese and Connie Booth penned the first two episodes.

A Fawlty Towers Dinner is a unique event, with an interactive cast who are uncannily like the real thing. All professional Equity members, they have been chosen for their superb improvisational skills and comic timing. The fact they look like the characters they portray is, naturally, a bonus, adding to the surreal feeling that you really have walked into a real-life episode of the series (although unlike Fawlty Towers, the food is always superb).

Our Fawlty Towers Dinner shows are not pre-scripted, staged performances but interactive events. None of the original scripts are used, and much of the comedy is improvised. However, we take care to recreate all your favourite moments, from Basil’s famous goosestep to Manuel’s "Filigree Siberian Hamster" (aka Basil the Rat). All the usual slaps and mishaps are there, overseen by characters like The Major to add to the fun.
