Laughlines performed the Fawlty Towers tribute show to a packed restaurant at the Hotel Gleneagles last Saturday and yet again received a standing ovation.  A fabulous night indeed…professional Laughlines actors, John Tearney, Wren Chapman and Michael Wilson-Green gave it their all in a three hour non stop performance that had tears rolling down faces and stomachs and throats aching from laughter!  The next visit to the famous Hotel Gleneagles will be Saturday 2nd October where the press will be attending to do a special write up on this amazing show.  The Hotel Gleneagles is of course where the first couple of episodes were written by John Cleese and Connie Booth and where they both witnessed the mad antics of Donald Sinclair (The real Basil Fawlty).

Laughlines have produced another fabulous comedy tribute show – A tribute to Father Ted…This show has recently been performed in Ireland and the UK achieving great success and acclaim.

A little Laughlines history lesson…Laughlines started in business back in 1997 and went limited in 2000.  Most of the original actors who worked with Laughlines back then are still working with us including, Lisa Howard, Zoie Kennedy, Rodney paulden, John Tearney, Bryan Hourihane and Nick Chadwin, all of whom have performed in theatre, on television and at live comedy events  .

It was actually the Fawlty towers shows that really kicked things off for the company, after Michael Wilson-Green performed as Manuel as a comedy waiter.  Since then Laughlines have grown incredibly and have performed privately for celebrities, appeared on numerous television and radio programmes and entertained at corporate functions big and small.  The Laughlines Fawlty Towers tribute show is still one of the biggest sellers would you belive and we pride ourselves on producing and performing a highly polished event.  That’s why Laughlines regularly perform at the original hotel in Torquay and have rencently been ranked in the top ten guide to the best theme breaks in the UK  by the Mirror Newspaper.

Laughlines ABBA themed murder mystery event Mamma Mia It’s Murder is selling well and creating a lot of interest as expected. Laughlines regular’s such as Ramside Hall Hotel, Hardwick Hall and Woolley Hall have all booked this fabulous comedy murder night, which also features live music and singing from the Laughlines team.  The evening kicks off with the all time classic song Dancing Queen… followed by Laughlines version of Waterloo – Portaloo, the lyrics tell the story of Benny stuck in the Portaloo, straining and forcing in the Portaloo to try and get out…”It’s definitely affecting his health, there’s no toilet roll left on the shelf” the team continue with their hilarious version of Super Trooper… – Super Dooper, a song about the Swedish wonder bra – the Super Dooper Bra (Super bra dooper bra) then Mamma Mia… Yes, ladies and getlemen it’s the tribute band of the year awards and Bjorn Again Again are firm favourites to win, Melvyn Starbright (The Swanky Swindler) presents the show in his own inimitable way, tonight is the final with Alvin sawdust…a carpenter from Swansea, tributing Alvin Stardust! Robin and Barry Gobb The Gee Gees tribute the Bee Gees with the famous hit ‘How Deep Is Your Glove’, a song about Robin Gobb’s finger fetish….
