Laughlines planned mini trip to the Beech Hill Country House Hotel, Derry, was recently re-scheduled to Friday 06th and Saturday 07th August. Friday 06th is our ever popular tribute to Fawlty Towers and Saturday 07th is the hilarious Father Ted show. The journey kicks off with a Father Ted show in Letterkenny , Donegal at the Best Western Milford Inn, on Thursday 05th August.
Th volcano saga triggered the date move due to Ryan Air cancelling our flights…well, no worries, August is a lovely time of year and we are really looking forward to going there this Summer. Big audiences are expected as usual. Last year the amazing John Duddy - the WBA middleweight world champion boxer attended the Laughlines Fawlty Towers event at Beech Hill Hotel and loved it, that reminds me, I must give him a call to see if he is coming over to see the Father Ted show!
We look forward to seeing all our Irish chums soon for some great fun!

Laughlines performed their famous original Fawlty Towers tribute show in Harrogate last week at the Crown Hotel. Again we were blessed with a full house and it sure was an amazing evening. These events are tending to get booked up a couple of months in advance now, so early booking with Superbreak is recommended.
Amoung our guests is a past corporate client of Laughlines who could not resist booking in for some Fawlty fun!
It is nice to do something local without a tiring drive, so all the cast were bounding with energy - saying that we always are I suppose…last week we went to Torquay, we drove 6 hours, turned up at the hotel, set up the sound equipment and tested it and then got changed and did a three hour full on show and still talked with the guests until 2.30am…then back up at 8.30am for breakfast and a 6 hour drive home…Easy! (Only took two days to recover)
The next Fawlty Towers event at the Crown Hotel in Harrogate is Friday 21st May - please book through Superbreak on 0871 221 4444 or on line at www.superbreak.com (One night stay)
The next Fawlty Towers event at Hotel Gleneagles in Torquay, is Saturday 03rd July (One night stay) also bookable through Superbreak - details above.

Amongst the guests in the audience were a group from Switzerland who flew out especially for the show, another table of Fawlty fanatics were all the way from Holland and also a family from Guernsey! As usual everyone had a fabulous time and afterwards commented, that they would not have missed it for the world…the Laughlines cast consisting of Michael Wilson-Green as Basil, John Tearney as Manuel and Wren Chapman as Sybil, got a standing ovation at the end and even the next morning the wonderful comments came flooding in and photographs were still being taken of the actors.

On Wednesday 23rd June Laughlines are to entertain the Seddon Group for the second consequitive year with their very own version of Last of the Summer Wine. This will be a stage set play of the popular comedy show which was broadcast on a Sunday evening! The comedy is being written by John Tearney who is not just a fabulous actor and comedian but also very accomplished when it comes to writing and especially comedy. John wrote last years piece for the Seddon Group entitled The Mystery of the Fourth portrait - a 1920’s light hearted murder event, everyone loved it and it was superbly acted. This year will be lots of fun as usual and it will be interesting to see what the actors will get up to on stage, as John has asked for a tin bath a large plank of wood and a bicycle amongst other things…
Again a talented cast of actors will be treading the boards including the brilliant Nick Chadwin who will be playing the role of Compo…Peter Kennedy, Ruth Urqhart and Rodney Paulden from the Two Ronnie’s fame will be also adding to the fun with their fabulous acting skills and Michael Wilson-Green will appear as Howard as the wet nancy downtrodden and abused husband who is having an affair with a local Yorkshire slapper!

As well as having the pleasure of performing Father Ted recently at Woolley Hall in Wakefield, we also have had the opportunity of performing our ever popular Murder at the Manor murder mystery. This is a Victorian themed murder mystery event consisting of strong characters such as, Lord Drinkwater (The Lord of the Manor) Sir Thomas Crapper (Inventor of the Flush toilet) Olivia Bidet, (Crappers P.A. & general dogs body) Lady Ethel Knoll (Lord D’s fiancée’) and finally, Willy Washer- the butler, a true faithful servant if ever there was one!
This event was performed on Friday 05th March and was a comedy hit as the feedback from the guests was terrific!
Laughlines performed Father Ted more recently on St. Patrick’s night (17th March) - this was a well attended event and also turned out to be a smash hit with the public.
The next event scheduled for Woolley Hall is Friday 23rd April with another comedy gem ‘Carry On Murder’ Please be aware this is a show not for the pompous, faint hearted or for those individuals who find it difficult to have a good old laugh! If your the opposite , your throat will ache with laughing!!!
If you cannot make the 23rd April at Woolley Hall then we are performing Murder at the Oscars there on Friday 14th May.
We look forward to seeing you soon for some comedy fun.
The Laughlines team.

Last Friday evening was a great night for Laughlines as they performed their highly acclaimed Murder at Fawlty Towers. This was a mega fundraising event for Isabel Hospice at the Manor of Groves Hotel in Sawbridgeworth. This event was attended by over 200 guests and the main highlight of the evening was the Laughlines Fawlty Towers event which consisted of a full cast including, Polly and the Major and a surprise visit by Basil’s brother Clifford Fawlty (What, never heard of him! well that’s because we made him up!) This was murder at Fawlty Towers after all and we needed a few more characters for our suspects list, including, Mrs Richards (She’s the deaf one).
Well, it certainly was a thrilling night of entertainment and lots of fun and all for a brilliant cause. Lisa Seccombe the organiser and chief fund raiser commented; Basil & co were true professionals, I have never seen such a seamless and professional act that was so entertaining and funny.
Well done Lisa for a successful night of fund raising and here’s to many more…
Lisa is booking another event with Laughlines for November this year and another for March next year…Father Ted and Allo Allo look like the themes next up.
